Choosing a face mask usually starts with one question: what is my skin type? In practice, however, one single answer rarely describes the entire face. The T-zone may show more oiliness, while the cheeks may need hydration. At the same time, the skin may look dull and the eye area more tired.
So, what happens when your skin needs more than one thing at the same time?
This is exactly where multimasking comes in, a more personalized approach to using face masks, allowing you to give each area the care it needs.
What is multimasking?
Multimasking means applying different masks to different areas of the face, depending on the needs you notice at that moment. A cleansing mask, for example, can be applied to the T-zone, a hydrating mask to more dehydrated areas and a targeted mask under the eyes.
It is not layering. The masks are not applied one on top of another, but on separate zones, without overlapping.
The goal is not to use as many products as possible in one application. It is to observe your skin and create a masking ritual that responds to its real needs, instead of expecting one single formula to offer the same care to the entire face.
Four face masks, four targeted actions
For more than 30 years, face masks have been one of Fresh Line’s signature rituals. Their new generation evolves this philosophy through four targeted formulas for cleansing, hydration, glow and revitalizing the eye area. At the heart of the range are upcycled extracts, making use of valuable raw materials through a more sustainable approach.
Lemon Cleansing Mask for the T-zone
When the nose, forehead or chin show more intense oiliness and more visible pores, the Lemon Cleansing Mask can be applied specifically to these areas.
The combination of green clay, kaolin and Heilmoor mud helps remove impurities and excess sebum, offering a clearer, smoother and matte-looking complexion. Upcycled lemon extract offers antioxidant and balancing care, while biopolysaccharides help support hydration and a feeling of comfort on the skin.
Apple Hydrating Mask for dehydrated areas
Dehydration does not concern only dry skin. It can appear on every skin type as a feeling of tightness, reduced comfort or a more tired look. The Apple Hydrating Mask is ideal for areas that need more moisture and nourishment, such as the cheeks.
The natural sugars in its formula help retain moisture, while the plant-based complex with avocado oil, phytosterols and olive oil supports the skin barrier. Greek upcycled apple extract enhances hydrating and antioxidant care, leaving the skin softer and more rested.
Grape Glow Mask for dull and uneven-looking skin
When the skin looks dull or its texture feels less smooth, the Grape Glow Mask offers targeted renewal to the areas that need it.
The natural AHA complex, with natural glycolic acid and fruit acids, removes dead cells from the skin’s surface and helps promote a smoother texture and more even tone. Upcycled grape extract offers antioxidant care, while Tasmanian pepperberry, calendula and vitamins E and F complement the formula with soothing and caring properties.
Potato Revitalizing Eye Mask for a more rested look
The eye area has different needs from the rest of the face and can be included in almost every multimasking combination. The Potato Revitalizing Eye Mask is applied under the eyes and targets visible signs of fatigue, such as puffiness, dark circles and fine lines.
Its formula combines upcycled potato extract, caffeine from upcycled coffee extract and arnica, helping promote a brighter and more rested look. Marine plankton offers an immediate smoothing and firming effect, while avocado oil and almond oil care for the delicate area and help maintain its moisture and elasticity.
How to do multimasking step by step
1. Observe your skin
Before choosing masks, look at how your skin is on that day. Is there oiliness in the T-zone? Do your cheeks feel dehydrated? Does your complexion look dull? Do your eyes look tired? The choice starts from how your skin looks today, not only from your general skin type.
2. Start with clean skin
Remove makeup, sunscreen and impurities, gently cleanse your face and dry it without rubbing. This helps the masks apply evenly to the zones you have chosen.
3. Create your own application map
Apply each mask only to the area that needs it, without mixing or overlapping the formulas. You do not need to cover every part of the face or use all four masks together. Even a combination of two masks can create a complete multimasking ritual.
4. Respect the time of each formula
The Lemon Cleansing Mask should be left on for 10 minutes and rinsed off before it dries completely. The Apple, Grape and Potato masks should be left on for 10 to 15 minutes. If you use them at the same time, follow the application time of each product separately.
5. Complete your routine
Rinse the masks off thoroughly and continue with the skincare products that suit your skin. If you use the Grape Glow Mask during the day, make sure to finish with sun protection.
Three easy multimasking combinations
For combination skin: Lemon on the T-zone for cleansing and balancing, Apple on the cheeks for hydration and Potato under the eyes for a more rested look.
For dull skin with dehydrated areas: Grape on the areas where you want more glow and smoothing, Apple on the areas that feel tight and Potato on the under-eye area.
For gentle hydration and revitalization: Apple on the areas that need comfort and hydration, together with Potato under the eyes. It is a simple combination for the days when the skin looks stressed and the eyes look tired.
If you are using multimasking for the first time or if your skin is sensitive, start with two masks and observe how your skin responds. More active formulas, such as a mask with AHA or clays, do not need to be applied to more areas than those that truly need them.
How often can you do multimasking?
The frequency depends on the masks you choose and on how your skin responds. Lemon and Grape can be used 1 to 2 times per week, according to their instructions, while Apple and Potato can be applied as often as needed. If you are just starting out, one application per week is a simple way to observe how your skin responds and gradually adjust your ritual.
The mask you need today may not be the one you need tomorrow
The needs of the skin are influenced by the season, the environment, everyday life and your overall skincare routine. One week you may need more cleansing, another more hydration and at some point a targeted step for glow or revitalization.
Multimasking does not simply add more masks to your routine. It helps you use each formula where it truly makes sense, making skincare more personalized and more mindful.
The right mask is the one that answers your skin’s need at the moment it needs it.
